4 mst. bark ALEXANDRE fotograferet efter søsætning 1902.
Kommentar fra Henk de Winde, 11.09.2025:
the ALEXANDRE was a Bordés owned sailing vessel, and near sistership of the ALPHONSE and did sink.
Launched on 22.6.1902 in Dunkirk at ACF, she was in tow of tug ATLAS from Dunkirk to N?Shields in the UK. She left Dunkirk 18.11.1903 and in a hurricane force wind the tow broke away. Although the ATLAS and another tug the INDUSTRIE searched for her for 12 days, she was never found. 33 seamen lost their lives.... No further data on the ALEXANDRE found.
But as to the tug in the photograph, she is certainly French and "Dunkerquois" because the photograph is absolutely taken in Dunkirk at the ACF yard.
ABEILLE must therefore be attending the launching of the fully-rigged ALEXANDRE on 22 June 1902.
